BREAKING: MSTR CEO Phong Le says he underestimated how highly the market valued the company’s dollar reserves. He added that using those reserves to repay convertible debt unsettled investors and contributed to STRC’s sharp decline. [Spoken audio]: I think the number one thing that happened in the last month was we drew down our USD reserve by about $1.4 billion to $700 million to buy back $1.4 billion of convertible debt, $1.5 billion notional. The decision to buy back the convertible debt I thought was important and appropriate from a risk management perspective. We have about five to six billion dollars of convertible debt that had a put date in 2028 about two years ago. And my ability to take out essentially 30% of that made a lot of sense, right? So no sort of issue there. using the US dollar reserve versus using stretch proceeds or selling Bitcoin, I think if we look back said, okay, did not realize how important that US dollar reserve was to our stretch investors, right? And so in retrospect, probably would have done that differently, right? And that's this sort of experimenting, seeing how the market reacts and then reacting back and innovating. And so that was sort of the primary of what I think caused the stretch dislocation. Also happened to be that Bitcoin was at $84,000 and it went down to $60,000 at that same point in time. So sometimes the timing doesn't work out because if Bitcoin was $84,000 and went up to $100,000 at that same point in time, perhaps stretch would still be trading at 100 even though we took $1.4 billion a US dollar reserve out. So a little bit of I would say execution that was not understanding how the market valued our US dollar reserve. Even though, my view and our organization's view is we had $55 billion of Bitcoin behind that. I think our stretch investors, and especially some of our institutional investors, viewed US dollar cash as more important in a liquid than Bitcoin as a Bitcoin bull, a permable. I was like, hey, come on. I got $55 billion of Bitcoin. So what if I reduced my cash by $1.4 billion? Not a big deal. Clearly, our institutional investors and our retail investors viewed otherwise. What have we done since then? The primary thing we did was we said, we're going to build this US dollar reserve back up. We're now at $2.5 billion. It's higher than it's ever been. And we'll continue to build it up. And we're only going to use it going forward for the purposes of paying off dividends and interest. So that was the primary thing that's happened in the last month. plus Bitcoin coming down. Some could argue that Bitcoin went down because we sold 32 Bitcoin. I think the events of this week have probably led people to realize that strategy selling, whether it be 32 Bitcoin or more, isn't really driving the Bitcoin market. So I'll put that aside. That's what we learned. And we quickly, I think, addressed it, right? And we addressed a few other things too out there, but that was the primary.

Solana is not a serious blockchain Note the difference between credibly neutral infrastructure and for-profit corporations Solana chain is competing with Robinhood chain - it’s a corporate battle for attention They are businesses Meanwhile Ethereum is serving as critical
