simply untrue memecoin activity on solana was what drove majority of their onchain revenues in 2023/24, & all of the serious infra builders benefitted, & it also attracted new founders it is evident in data that attracts retail already wrote longpost on this

Saw this post going around about InfoFi being underrated compared to memes. Imho both are a disease in this space, just different symptoms. InfoFi mostly bred content farmed for rewards, not genuine belief Memes are pure gambling dressed up as community Nothing wrong

"You can't dock code. Governments can shut us down, but you can download it and build it yourself. Now with AI, you just feed it into Claude and boom, it'll make you an app." @vikrantnyc and @sethforprivacy on why the fight against freedom tech is futile. [Spoken audio]: I think the genie's out of the bottle, right? I'm one of those people that believe that the will of the people does win out in the end. Governments, regulators can keep fighting something, but the people want it and do it. And you saw that happen with Bitcoin, right? In the early days, you remember in 2012, 13, there's so much fud that it's going to get banned, the government's going to crack down, and eventually it got so big that they couldn't ignore it, that these people are trading value in billions, and regulators finally looked at it, governments finally looked at it and said, okay, we need to somehow bring this into the fold. As far as freedom tech is concerned, I think it goes along the same line. You can't dock code. If I publish some code somewhere, take KQuality for example, right? It's open source. We can go away tomorrow. Governments can shut us down, let's say, But you can download the code and you can build it yourself. And I think your vibe coding references is really applicable here. Because before three years ago, if somebody gives you a code, hey, you can download Kick Wallet and build it yourself. They're like, well, I don't know how to do that. I'm not a developer. I'm not a co-worker. But now with AI, you can just speed that into cloud or a charge chief ID. And boom, it'll make you an app. And the UX UI reference you made, I mean, Elon Musk last year tweeted out, because of AI, user interface is dead. And he's right, because on the fly, you can have it look whatever the way you want it to look. You can take the cake code and say, here, build me a wallet, but make it look completely different. Do something that you like. So now you can do very custom user experience the way you want it. I had information you don't want, show information you want, features that you want, features that you don't want, you can control everything. A side note, does that worry me about kickball? Yes, it does, but I think in the long term, not thinking selfishly, thinking selflessly, I think in the long term, this is all going to contribute to freedom tech and the use of freedom tech and accessibility to freedom tech to the regular folks. But I think it's, I think all these efforts by the EU and things is futile. Yeah, I think like vibe coding also enhances the overall uplift that comes with open source code. Cause one of the really nice things about open source code is like for us as a business, we can't compete on an intellectual property mode. Like you mentioned at KQuali, like you can go download the code right now, the exact code that we're publishing to all of our users and you can go build it And you can go customize it in whatever way you want. Not going to necessarily recommend vibe-coding complex changes to a wallet that's of custodial, because obviously there are risks there. But you can do that today. And so what it means is that us as a company, we have to compete very aggressively for users by building what they want. We can't just sit back and say, OK, we built something. It's locked behind IP laws. We're just going to do the bare minimum and keep it alive and just keep people locked in with the subscription for a decade. Like that world is dead. That world used to exist, that world is dead now. And that's a really good thing because it means that the actual end tools that get in people's hands are much more competitive and are much more built for them. I think the other thing like touched on this with, with UI UX on the design side, one of the really exciting things about vibe coding is not just the backend code side, which I think is what most people think about when they think about vibe coding. but actually AI is really good and getting much better on the design side, if you know what you want and if you have a good idea in terms of brand that sort of thing, like a good example of that is the website for radar, radar.chat. I built that, but it was built from a really good brand that Jaime or had a brand came up with, good logos, color palettes, all of that. So like it still needed good underlying building blocks with good messaging system that was built by folks at Neural Radar, helped us out on the marketing side. but then I was able to build a really beautiful website. I'm not a designer or a developer, but I knew what I wanted and I had good building blocks. And the ability to do that is something that I think has been a problem in the freedom tech space for a long time. Or usually it's very technical people who have a vision for what the technology needs to be, but have a hard time translating that into a beautiful user-friendly product. But there's really good tooling down the AI side in terms of design review, in terms of the actual like building the websites the front end side of things as well that can can let us build freedom tech that's really beautiful intuitive and approachable and easy to use at the same time, which is a big a big shift as well in the space.

Shout out to the one and only @basileus_eth ! He literally wears his art on his 'sleeve'. We've been friends since the early days of crypto art, and this space is so much better with him in it. An amazing person all around... and damn, he can drink a lot of whisky! Love

after onchain hoodies, another mint iโ€™m looking forward to is @ASCIIcats_ - free mint - fully onchain - $ascii token comes with it. - no wl, full public it also comes with interesting mint mechanism; 1 IP = 1 mint, iโ€™ll try to mint this.

[Spoken audio]: This is Matthew Cratters, Bitcoin University. Today, I want to answer the question, well, the large Bitcoin miners activate Bip110, by which we mean by large Bitcoin miners, we mean the large mining pools. There are basically only five in the world. There's Ann Pool and Friends, there's Foundry, there's Via BTC, there's F2 Pool, and then there's Spider Pool, along with a bunch of miscellaneous smaller miners. I'm also a miner, as are many of you. You can see here I've been mining at over 5 petahash for the past 24 hours. I need to give you guys an update on this. The lifetime earnings for this Bitcoin address are over 3 million sat. So if you want to learn more about BIP110, how you can mine to support us, I'll put a link to this in the description notes below. BIP110.org as well as this explanation of what BIP110 actually does. But let's review the current state of affairs and sort of look at this from a mining pool, a large mining pool's point of view. Current state of affairs is this, about 14,000 real Bitcoin plebs are running Bip110. Maybe some of these are duplicate, so maybe it's 12,000, 13,000, but definitely a significant number of real Bitcoiners. And you can see them on X, you can see them in my comments section on these videos. So while they're about 14,000 real Bitcoin plebs running Bip110 and supporting it, there's currently zero active resistance to Bip110. And as far as I can tell, they're currently zero people running a URSF, a user-resisted or user-rejected soft fork, which is really the only way to actually oppose a UASF like BIP110. Point number three, BIP110 is a very simple and benign consensus change. It just says no more large opera turns at the consensus level, no inscriptions to exploit. It restores Bitcoin to where it was before the 2023 attacks and Bitcoin cores negligence, and it does this at a consensus level. So this is nothing like SegWit, which was a complicated and fundamental change to how Bitcoin transactions are constructed. That was a major upgrade. By contrast, Bip110 is a very, very simple upgrade to Bitcoin, and anyone can verify for themselves what Bip110 does. As Luke Dasher writes here, Bip110 creates a rare opportunity for Bitcoiners we should take advantage of. Unlike most consensus changes, it's an extremely simple one with only five modified lines of code and 72 added across five source code files. We can explain it in a way anyone can and understand, take a look, review BIP 110 yourself. And as you read the code, also take note of how it flows cleanly and matches the general code around it. BIP 110 does not introduce any fundamentally new concepts. And so there's a nice walkthrough here. I'm not going to do the whole thing, but basically you have the code, then you have some plain language notes showing what it does. This, for example, makes it a temporary activation state, reduced script element sizes, et cetera. One thing to keep in mind when you're taking a look at this, and you can actually scroll down all the way the bottom there's some better summaries of the seven the seven rules one thing to keep in mind is that opera turns are on the output side so they're on the right side of a Bitcoin transaction these inputs on the left were inscriptions and the witness and the witness stuffing is on the left side as well and I'll put an example here right here you can tell this is an inscription because of the op-zero or op-zero op-if or op-false op-if and this is basically how they chop up the data and embed it in a tap screw a tap tap root address so you can keep that in mind there's another version that Luke did here basically where it has the code on the left and then the explanation on the right so this first one for example just checks the size of each output according to rule one if the size exceeds the applicable limit the block is declared invalid but you're allowed to have opera turns up to 83 bytes so again this is a very very simple thing that doesn't break anything doesn't hurt normal Bitcoin transactions, doesn't hurt lightning, doesn't hurt multi-sig, doesn't hurt coin join or anything like that. I also put a link to this that has a nice flow chart that explains how BIP110 works. So here's the thing, if you're a large mining pool you have a choice. When mandatory signaling begins for miners on about August 7th or August 8th, you can just flip the bit and signal for BIP110. It doesn't cost you anything. None of your blocks will get thrown out by these 14,000 or more nodes and you can lead a peaceful life. Or you can do the opposite. You can refuse to flip the bit and have your chance and thus have a chance of having your $200,000 blocks thrown in the garbage without you getting paid. So Bip110, as we said, it's a very simple upgrade. It's not an attack on the network. Bitcoin Core version 30 and failing to fix the inscriptions exploit. These were the attacks on the network. So Bip110 is not an attack on the network. It's trying to reverse these things and fix the damage, the extreme damage that Bitcoin Core has done. And here's the other thing. Bip110 blocks will be accepted by every single node that is currently on the Bitcoin network today. A lot of people don't realize that, but this is a soft fork. So this is of course true, unless the other side runs a URSF, a user-resisted soft fork. So Bip110 blocks will be accepted by every single node that is currently on the network today, even Bitcoin Core nodes, even Libre Relay nodes, et cetera. So here's the thing. large mining pool. I think you probably just press the red button i.e. you start signaling for BIP 110 once it becomes mandatory. There's no reason to do it before it becomes mandatory or at least weeks before it becomes mandatory and I think that's why we haven't really seen any signaling. So I think these large mining pools they just make it easy on themselves. They press the red button and they get on with their days because if you decide if they decide to press the blue button instead then they're going to need to make sure that all their competitors don't defect to the Bip-1 tensi. So here's a question, well foundry, the large American mining pool sleep well at night knowing that AntPool wants to destroy it. Well AntPool sleep well at night knowing that Foundry wants to destroy it because they're obviously going to be playing these games with each other because soft forks like this are a time where you can attack your enemy and you can come out on top. So if these mining pools want to sleep well at night they just press the red button which basically costs them nothing. If you want to know more about the red button, blue button analogy, I'll put a link to this video in the description notes below. So I want to end with a warning to mining pools. We are basically, we plebs are basically insane people, you should realize after having seen the last six months, we're insanely committed to getting this activated. We're not going to let up until BIP 110 gets activated. We're never going away until we get what we want. We are going to be a thorn in your side for the next five years, for the next 10 years, if that's what it takes, and we're going to make your lives and continue make your lives absolutely miserable if you oppose us. And this is because you mining pools need to remember you work for us the plebs and not the other way around. And here's the other thing, we have a remarkably high threshold for pain as hotline plebs that I can promise you that your exchange or mining pool or other Bitcoin or crypto business does not have this similar high threshold for pain. We don't care if the price tanks to $15,000, we don't care if it if it takes to $5,000 or $1,000, we can out-hottle all of you because we have our Bitcoin and self-custody. We also don't care if the chain split, if there is a chain split, and if there is one, if it wreaks havoc on your exchange, we don't care if your mining pool goes bankrupt because we keep throwing out your blocks. Bip110 is being run by the most maniacal Bitcoin plebs that have ever existed and we're armed with our personal servers, our start-nines and our umbrellas. We're hashing, we're mining and we really are taking back the network. So I would say because this is being run by the most maniacal Bitcoin plebs that have ever existed and we're not gonna take no for an answer, I would suggest that the Bitcoin mining pools, think about this, realize this is a very simple, non-contentious upgrade and they just start to signal forward. So I would suggest that the large mining pools choose wisely, have a nice day, and make the right choice because otherwise your lives are going to be absolutely miserable.
