What B20 actually unlocks on @base : > Native issuance (no custom contract needed) > Built in compliance (roles, transfer policies, freeze & seize, supply caps) > Lower cost & higher performance than standard ERC-20 Made for stablecoins, RWAs, and serious asset issuance at [Spoken audio]: So we just launched the B20 token standard on base and I wanted to break that down for folks. The B20 token standard is like the ERC20 token standard but it's base specific and it's built directly into the chain and this unlocks a few things. First it's cheaper and much more performant. You're going to be able to send and swap at a much lower cost and we're going to be able to scale the chain so that we can do tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of B20 transactions per second. The second thing is that it unlocks a lot more capabilities and so there's a bunch of stuff built into the token standard. This is stuff for more enterprise issuers like compliance and policies that enable securities to come on chain, enables bonds to come on chain, enable basically anything to come on chain and have all the tools that they need out of the box. But it also unlocks a bunch of stuff for other kinds of issuers like meme coins or creator coins or app coins because there's capabilities built directly into the token. One example of this is fast following the recent launch, we're going to enable metadata for token URIs. And so now instead of images living off chain where it's hard to know what's the image for a token, now they're going to be built directly into the B20. And so anyone can send image and it can be automatically updated and adopted everywhere. And so that's the kind of unlock that by having this built directly into the chain, we can unlock. And the cool thing about this is that we're also just getting started. One of the superpowers of having B20 live is we'll be able to upgrade it so that we can add more capabilities. So this is going to enable things like virtual accounts on B20, more privacy on the B20, a bunch of other tools for issuers who are doing real-world assets that they want out of the box. And all of that's just coming together to make it so that more assets are issued on base, which then gives people more things to trade, which then makes the base economy grow faster and faster.
