The question isn't whether AI agents can move money. It's whether you can trust them to. "I'd like to see trust encoded in technology rather than be left to humans and the businesses that humans create." โ€” @psneville , who wrote the first USDC smart contract, now Co-founder & [Spoken audio]: Where does the unique aspect of stablecoins come in at the policy layer? It's a concentration of trust answer, really. You're thinking about four layers where policies are enforced. One is just AI guardrails, which are almost like suggestions, frankly, because they can be saved so easily. There's a policy engine layer where if you put all the capabilities in the policy engine, you're trusting whoever runs that engine. In reality, they may be multiple engines, but then still it's a federation of vendors who you trust. Then there's the cryptographic layer in the wild. If you can encode policies in a TE, which is how we manage our underlying stablecoin infrastructure, then we can't possibly move that our policy engine can't possibly move those funds, but neither can your agent. They have to agree. Based on how you define your policies, you can enforce this cryptographically at the wallet level. So you don't actually have to trust your policy engine because of the way the cryptography works. And the fourth layer is on-chain itself. If you take off the on-chain and the cryptography layer, you're just concentrating trust on two layers, the guardrail and the policy. Ultimately, to me, it's a trust problem. Why I was so excited about building Circle and creating stablecoins, I would like to see trust encoded in technology rather than be left to humans and the businesses that humans create. I think every asset will come in chain and every logic will come in chain. And that's the specific logic and rule-based decisions are no exception. I think that blockchain and smart contracts is going to run that layer. I agree. I think they're catalysts for each other, honestly.
