Does supporting onchain key rotation really make a difference if most of the upgrades are still going to be hard forks?
The No.1 metric for measuring the success of $MSTR. Don't make the mistake many are making. YouTube link in comments. [Spoken audio]: So in this video I want to explain the most important metric for measuring the success of strategy and by the end of the video you will be equipped with the knowledge of how to cut through the noise and truly determine whether strategy is actually creating value for shareholders. Now as we all know strategy is a bitcoin accumulation machine but accumulation alone isn't the full story. The real question is whether that accumulation is translating into actual economic value for shareholders. One metric measures exactly that Bitcoin per share. Bitcoin per share measures how much Bitcoin each diluted share is backed by and the beauty of this metric is its simplicity. When Bitcoin per share rises shareholders increase their exposure to Bitcoin When Bitcoin per share falls, shareholders decrease their exposure to Bitcoin. And ultimately, this is the only number that matters. And it is what strategy is optimizing for. And Michael Saylor has said so directly as evidence in this clip. The one metric beyond the Bitcoin price you'd tell them to focus on. I'm assuming you're going to say BTC yield. Yeah, I think it's Bitcoin per share or the rate of change of Bitcoin per share, which is BTC yield. You're asking the question, at what rate is the company compounding my Bitcoin holdings? We had 50,000 Satoshis per share five years ago, and now we have more than 200,000 Satoshis per share. So that's the that's the focus I would have if I'm a Bitcoin standard person and a Bitcoin Maximus. The company exists to increase Bitcoin per share for every shareholder. And so every financing decision taken by strategy should be evaluated through one question. Did it increase net Bitcoin per share or decrease it? Now it's important to note that there will inevitably be transactions that are net dilutive, which is why every decision must be evaluated within the full context of the company's long-term strategy and operations and not in isolation. And this brings us to an important distinction. As a shareholder of strategy, the objective is not just to own more Bitcoin in absolute terms. The objective is to own more Bitcoin in Bitcoin per share terms. So why does Bitcoin per share ultimately matter more than Bitcoin? The answer is because theoretically, as long as the price of Bitcoin continues to appreciate, strategy could maintain the same Bitcoin collateral base, whilst continuing to issue digital credit to buy more Bitcoin and increase Bitcoin per share. Now that doesn't diminish the importance of total Bitcoin holdings, which as we just established is the prerequisite to issuing digital credit. But total Bitcoin holdings alone does improve the value is being created because strategy can increase this number in a manner that is net diluted. You can buy as much Bitcoin as you want, 5%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, even 50% of the total supply. But if Bitcoin per share has an increase, then you haven't created value for shareholders. And this is the difference between accumulation and accretion. Total Bitcoin holdings tells you the size of the Bitcoin collateral base. Bitcoin per share tells you how much of that base you actually own. Now, Fang Li, the CEO of strategy, has echoed the same view by pointing to Bitcoin yield, which is simply the rate at which strategy is increasing Bitcoin per share as the more important metric, while describing total Bitcoin holdings as a vanity metric, which you can watch in this clip. Ultimately, our goal is to accrete Bitcoin per share and do it in a thoughtful way to our credit and to our equity and to Bitcoin. And so ultimately, it's not about how much Bitcoin we buy or how fast or how slow it's our recreating Bitcoin per share. So the number of Bitcoin, although it's It's a nice vanity metric. It's not even Satoshi's, you know, it's nice, but it's ultimately how do we increase Bitcoin yield? And so in short, increasing Bitcoin per share is what ultimately drives out performance of MSCR over Bitcoin, assuming the market continues to reward that accretion. The more strategy increases Bitcoin per share, the more strategy is likely to outperform Bitcoin. Now I say the likely, because ultimately prices are set by the market and not by the metric itself. And once you understand that, the focus shifts from how much Bitcoin strategy owns to how efficiently each new Bitcoin purchase increases shareholder ownership. And that is because Bitcoin has an absolute fixed supply. And so theoretically, the maximum number of Bitcoin that strategy can own is 21 million. And so for all intents and purposes, Strategy only gets one chance to generate Bitcoin yield with every Bitcoin that it purchases That means that it is critical to maximize the Bitcoin yield that is generated with every Bitcoin purchase Every Bitcoin purchase below maximum accretion levels is an effectively permanently suboptimal allocation of capital and so for a company whose entire purpose is to increase Bitcoin per share the efficiency of each Bitcoin purchase matters enormously and this naturally leads us to one of the most common criticisms of Bitcoin per share. A lot of critics like to claim that the Bitcoin per share metric is meaningless because shareholders don't actually own the underlying Bitcoin. Now technically this is true but economically it misses the point. Shareholders never directly own the underlying assets of a company. Instead they own shares in the company that owns those underlying assets which exist to benefit shareholders as a whole. In the same way shareholders of strategy never directly own the underlying Bitcoin. Instead they own shares in a company that owns that underlying Bitcoin which exists to benefit shareholders as a whole. And the cleanest way to measure whether shareholders are benefiting from the underlying Bitcoin is Bitcoin per share. So in summary, the number one metric for measuring the success of strategy is Bitcoin per share. Bitcoin per share measures how much Bitcoin each diluted share is backed by. When Bitcoin per share rises, shareholders increase their exposure to Bitcoin. When Bitcoin per share falls, shareholders decrease their exposure to Bitcoin. And while shareholders don't directly own the underlying Bitcoin on strategy's balance sheet, they do own shares in a company that owns the underlying Bitcoin which exists to benefit shareholders as a whole. And the cleanest way to measure where the shareholders are benefiting from the underlying Bitcoin is Bitcoin per share. And on that note, I'm gonna wrap this video up.
