Peter Schiff is back, and this time he's pointing at Strategy's 843,775 BTC position as the thing that ends in disaster. I think he's wrong for the same reason he's been wrong for a decade, but the specific argument deserves a real answer. His argument, stripped of the gold-bug theatrics, is actually worth engaging with instead of just dunking on. The claim: Strategy is sitting on enormous unrealized losses with an average cost basis around $75,600 while BTC trades in the low $60Ks. They just sold 3,588 BTC to make dividend payments. Schiff's thesis is that this is the beginning, that the dividend obligations force continued selling, the selling pressures the price, the lower price forces more selling to cover the same dollar dividends, and eventually the largest corporate holder on earth becomes a forced seller into a falling market, dragging everyone down.
