[Spoken audio]: In some sense, Web3 really is a revolution in how we interact with the world, in the same way that the internet was also a revolution in how we interact with the world. Well, there's a few ways of explaining what Web3 is, but Web3, if you like, could be described as building or an approach to building resilient public digital infrastructure. Now the main difference between technologies or approaches that have gone before web3 and web3 is that of resilience. What is resilient? Indeed some web3 systems could reasonably be described as being anti-fragile, which is to say benefiting to some extent from chaos and diversity. Resilience here means resilience against a lot of different things. We're not building web3 to be particularly strong against one particular sort of malevolent force around it. Web3 systems are designed to be resilient against a numberable, essentially every different possible force that might attempt to corrupt its output, including some very important ones such as the owner or the deployer of the system. I mean, Web3 systems don't have owners generally, but they generally have some sort of creator, a team that creates it or individual individuals that deploy it. Now most of the time when we think about digital systems we don't think that it needs to be resilient against the very entity which created it or deployed it but in web3 we do because web3 systems are public systems in a very broad sense of the word. We must also make them resilient against situations that we don't expect to happen. The unknown unknowns. So in some sense web3 really is a revolution in how we interact with the world in the same way that the internet was also a revolution in how we interact with the world. It is, if we're trying to think very broadly, web3 is a way of trying to create that resilient infrastructure, public infrastructure, but within the internet.
