If Bitcoin matters to you, this conversation should too. [Spoken audio]: People don't recognize that Bitcoin has a fundamental issue and and I think it really stems from how we're using Bitcoin for the most part right now we're using Bitcoin as a store of value, kind of like gold and it wasn't really designed to be stored right it was designed to be used and that usage would translate to transaction fees in there for some semblance of longevity in terms of how you compensate miners well into the future. So now that we're using it for store of value, that means that the velocity of the network trends downwards because people are rather buy and hold. And then this is where the problem really ensues is the subsidy continues to exponentially decay every four years. And in about less than two years, the subsidy will decay again to like 1.56 something like that. And right now it's 3.125 Bitcoin per block. So as it exponentially decays, then the only thing that mitigates this problem is Bitcoin exponentially growing. And so people see this as like a bullish situation where Bitcoin has to go up. And yeah, I mean, Bitcoin can't go up. It's just it's very unlikely that it'll continue to go up exponentially. So here's where the problem lies. And I think where the fundamental misunderstanding where a lot of people in Bitcoin don't understand is that the value of Bitcoin comes from the security of the network. And that security of the network is upheld by the miners. And the the miners are only upholding that end of the bargain if they're paid to do so. And as they're, the only thing that they're relying on is the security budget of Bitcoin and it is declined in exponentially. And so if this continues, then the security of Bitcoin trends down and in that security trending down will have a direct effect on the price of Bitcoin because trending down means that there's a little bit more centralization and therefore a lot less faith into the protocol.
