Enjoy this clip from the one and only @thehbarbull Brandon interviews Lindsay Walker, Product Manager at @hashgraph , about her career journey and the @hedera AI Agent Bounty program and its progress! [Spoken audio]: So today I have Lindsay. She is a project manager at Hashgraph Lindsay. Thanks for hopping on today. Yeah Hey, nice to meet you. My name is Lindsay. I'm the product manager in a little incubator We have at Hedera called the AI studio and what we're working on is building AI products for Hedera under the Hashgraph name So we're trying to figure out how does a distributed ledger fit into the new AI space So, Lindsay, I guess before we, I want to get more into the bounty program, absolutely. But I also want to hear a little bit about yourself. You kind of introduced yourself, but I am curious. What brought you, what attracted you to Hedera and to Hashgraph? Yeah. Let's see. I've been a lot of places in my life. I started out as a math and science teacher, but then I started a kids coding school a while ago. And I've actually been in Web 3 and crypto since the very end of 2020 when I joined Protocol Labs. I was really inspired by sort of the distributed peer-to-peer nature of web3. But also after being in the web3 space for a little while, I learned a little bit about Hadera, about how they're doing a little bit different of a flavor of distributed ledger. And I was ready to sort of move with the industry towards a place where we're working on thinking realistically about how do we use distributed ledger in different industries and how do we really apply this technology with different partners in a little bit more of like a maturing of the space. Well, I certainly think that DLT and Hedera in particular have a really big role to play in the AI space that the crossroads between those two industries is really going to be important. So I do want to get more into this bounty program. I think it's the first time that Hedera or Hashgraph has actually used that strategy. Can you Explain the rationale behind it. Why do we go with this kind of strategy? Yeah, I mean, I think I was looking for something that was a lot harder than I thought it would to run this thing. But we were looking for something at twofold. We wanted to really specifically target the types of entries that we got. So we're really trying to find ways to get people to use the Hedera agent kit, but also use more of industry-wide standards and be less of a web three centric sort of thing. So one of the things we're prompting people to do is like look at some of the standards that other people are adopting. As an aside, the thing that we're focused on right now is agentic commerce. So it's sort of this idea that the way commerce is going to be is done has to be rethought and reimagined in much the same way Netflix reimagined how to bring media to people. Commerce is going to change. Now the agents are sort of the the primary actors of this. It has to re-figure and re-jigger, and it's a really interesting opportunity for Web 3. So what we're trying to do is encourage people to think about what's happening in the rest of the industry with the gentek commerce. There is an alphabet soup of different new protocols and standards coming up. Machine Payments Protocol, MPPX402. Google has some ACP, AP2, Agent Payments Protocol, which I think is really interesting. There's protocols for payments. One of them is UCP, one of them is ACP. Again, I said it's a word salad. And then some privatized companies like Visa and MasterCard are trying to come up with our own standards, own ways of doing things. But what I'm really hoping is that we have an open and interoperable way to do that, which is a really great opportunity for DLT. So with this bounty program, I wanted people to encourage people to start to look outside of the Web3 ecosystem and show them how we can use these tools to build something for this new reimagining. And then the second thing is, as a product manager, I wanted product feedback. I wanted people starting to use the things that we took many months to build, which was the Hedera agent kit, but some of the policies and systems. And there's more stuff coming soon, which we can talk about in a bit, but I wanted to get feedback on what we're building and seeing how people built with it. So yeah, get feedback, but also get people thinking outside of the traditional Web3 centric hackathon. I love the idea of some of the bounties that you had. I know X402 was part of one of them. My favorite was the one where they actually wanted to use Hbar as that value transfer mechanism, which I've been talking to a whole lot about for a long time. Can you run us through what the specific bounties were and some of the feedback that you got from developers that participated? Yeah, yeah. So the first, the most basic one is like, We went from basic to most complex and some people are like, well, why are different bounties worth a different amount? There's different levels of complexity. So the first one was you show us what you have. Just make a basic Hedera agent as long as you're using our toolkit and give us some feedback on it. Week two was, hey, think about how we might actually build a payment system or something that uses a DLT for an enterprise sort of company. Week three said, hey, use the, we have a couple of things available. We have our MCP and we have an X4O2 facilitator. So how would you build using that? Let's see how you use that. And that one was sort of like the least constrained, I think, because we didn't ask you to use necessarily HitterAgentKit. Week four was a commerce agent. And that's where we're saying, bring in one of these outside standards. And then the one that just closed, so we're finally, we're just wrapping up this bounty program was sort of our policy agent. So in the agent kit, we have this functionality where you can put hooks and policies in and limit what your agent can do. So we were trying to see how we can work outside the Web3 ecosystem and create policies, think about how enterprises might use this and adopt some of the standards and some of the things that people across the AI industry are using. All right, and as far as participation in these and the feedback that you got from the developers, what'd that look like? It was great. I was kind of blown away because we didn't do a lot of marketing on this. We just posted on Hedera Twitter, which was the idea. We had an average of 20 to 30 submissions for every week, even week one. Some of the feedback was really useful and great. It was, hey, I wish that this didn't work very well, this doesn't make sense, this is unintuitive. A lot of people really liked the AI agent kit, which was good. I think we had it well documented and we had it working pretty well. And then some people just had some really good ideas or I want to build an example for this. The good thing about this is that we had this program where people did build some of those examples. So the response was, I was very surprised and very impressed with how many people were entering and participating with us. So as far as this being, it sounded like it was kind of a pilot. You guys were just kind of feeling it out. It was the first time you had done it. After actually going through the process, Does this seem like something that Hashgraph and Hedera is gonna continue going into the future? Yeah, I hope so. I talked with Jake about this, and he's sort of the guy in DevRel that does a lot of our hackathons and sort of like coordinates all of this. And I think he really liked the idea of this. The bounties were much smaller, but I think the scope was much smaller as well, right? We didn't expect somebody to build something from scratch. All I really wanted was to say, hey, you can take your existing platform and tack on an AI agenda, build something really simple. I hope we keep going with that because it's been a really amazing tool to engage people with what we're building, get actual real world feedback and start to see some really creative ideas for different industries. There's a few different ones that were in there. And I was happy to see some of the less traditional DeFi applications, right? Where we have one for a farm use case or where we have people who are having you pay to make a PRT or repo. So we had some people actually doing some micropayments, thinking about how we can do micropayments for data and API calls, things like that. And then just some really fun agents, you know, we had a pirate agent that would do things really on the Amma Hedera testnet, just transferring hbar minting tokens, you know, with a little bit of a pirate, pirate attitude. Do you think that the people that did participate, were Are they working on it because they want to utilize that within their own businesses? Do you think they were coming up with new ideas for a potential business to build around? How were the participants looking at the products that they created? I think a lot of them, though, they were building on to what they already had in their own business, something that they'd already been working on in a hackathon. And it was a good opportunity to get people, the people, I will say one thing, the people that will win will be the ones that like meaningfully dug in and use the Hedera agent kit instead of trying to tack it on to something they had. But I think there were a lot of things that were projects or even businesses going on already where they said, hey, let's take some of these things and let's build them in. The things that I was also really impressed with were some of the people who were thinking about the industry standards, meaningfully implementing the agentic payments protocol. So mostly people who are building on to what they already had, but I saw a few neat, unique projects that seem to be built from the ground up. Well, I loved it. Lindsay, is there anything else that you want to touch on before we let you go? I think just keep those ideas flowing. I want to let people know that we're looking at a couple things as we grade these. Meaningful use of that Hader agent kit, we want to know what works and what's wrong with it. hear feedback about that, as well as fun and creative ideas. Again, I really like that pirate agent that just had a little bit of attitude and something fun going on with it. Well, Lindsay, I looked at these different bounties that you put out. I thought that they had a lot of value. I thought they had a lot of potential with these AI agents becoming, as you mentioned, so important and Hedera being able to work at scale. I think it's a marriage that's It's perfect going forward. Thanks so much for coming on and telling us about it. Yeah, thanks so much. It was great to meet you.

Retirement is still a joke and why I choose 401jk At some point, a lot of people quietly realized something uncomfortable: The system isn’t built to help you. Markets are rigged. Price action makes no sense. You watch liquidations wipe people out while the same players somehow always seem positioned perfectly. Then you see politicians and insiders launching their own coins, front-running narratives, and it becomes obvious, the people in control aren’t coming to save you. And those same people are the ones telling you to be patient. Save responsibly. Put a little away every month. Wait your whole life for retirement.
