why Rolex and Patek are incentivized to avoid the blockchain. the push for onchain RWAs is real, but the world of luxury watches thrives on exclusive mystery. james explains the love - hate game between major watch houses and the secondary market in this clip. [Spoken audio]: How do you see RWAs shaping the future for watches? Do you think that companies are going to start issuing paperwork, for example, on-chain? Do you think that we'll be going back and going to all these collections and putting them all on-chain and updating paperwork? Or how do you see the future evolving for RWAs, specifically with watches? I think Rolex, AP, and Patek are actually incentivized not to have it on-chain. I think a lot of the big houses, they want- Who's incentivizing them? Who? Who? I think there's Anno. We're like, all right, Kurt Charles, are you doing this? What? I think they'd benefit from having the book and the inventory be a little bit opaque, right? Nobody knows exactly how much inventory there is out there. Nobody knows exactly what's selling, how much it's sold for in gray or opaque markets. There's a lot more arbitrage opportunity and for somebody who controls it, like the house, which is the watch houses, they actually have a lot more control this way. So I don't think that the official watch brands will ever go on chain with this. Really? Yeah. But is that against what they're doing, with the ADs, like what we just spoke earlier, how, you know, they're afraid of the arbitrage opportunity and the ADs can get in trouble for that and they're doing the same thing essentially. They are, but it's also, it is a bit of a love hate game, right? So the, the houses, the watch houses, AP Rolex, Patek, Fashow and all that, um, they both need but hate the secondary market.
