Streaming now wherever you get your podcasts. [Spoken audio]: How did you get into Bitcoin? Because you're one of the big reasons why this company put stretch on the balance sheet. Well, my story starts back in 2020, around the COVID time. And when I saw what was going to happen with the Fed about to issue that much money, we knew what was coming. So that's when I really started looking into Bitcoin a lot more serious. Up until that point, I think Michael's famous for saying everybody hates it until they love it. And I was one of those people. I used to make fun of the people that invested in Bitcoin. But the more I studied it, because lo and behold, when you shut down the planet, you have a lot of time. So that gave me a lot of time to actually dig into it. And once you understand that Bitcoin was a protocol and you understand that it's not something you can hack, that's like hacking the base 10 numbering system. It just doesn't happen. So as you start to get more involved that way, then I started to appreciate it more. It was somewhere around late 2020, maybe 2021, when I flipped to be more of a maxi and realized the difference between cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin. And from there, about that time is when micro strategy at the time decided to put some Bitcoin on the balance sheet. And I thought, okay, there's a company I'm interested in. So that was when I started dating, if you will, with MSTR. And I've been following them ever since and become more and more of a fan along the way, which led us down the path of, you know, when Stretch actually came out last year. I mean, the preferreds, the converts, and, you know, the common stock ATM, all that stuff was things that I was very interested. But when Stretch came out, that's when I realized this was a pivotal moment and recognizing an opportunity early is a key attribute for any successful businessman and I went to my partners and told them you know this is going to change the world it's going to change the financial world and once they realized that wasn't hyperbole they were on board pretty quick so small companies small management teams small section of a piece of voters so it was relatively quick and able to be nimble move into Well, a lot of people have now heard of companies holding Bitcoin on the balance sheet. But why specifically was stretch something that you wanted to embrace? Because people have never heard of these perpetual preferred instruments collateralized by Bitcoin paying upwards of 11 and a half. Some of them now 13%. Yeah. Yeah. Well, you know, I've heard the keep Bitcoin on your balance sheet for a long time. You know, Michael's been preaching it for years now. And I was never really an advocate for that just because the primary purpose of a business is to generate product and generate cash flows and profit for its owners and shareholders. And Bitcoin's volatility means that particularly up until the FASB rules changed, they were very punitive to Bitcoin. So you can only mark it down, you could never mark it up. So when the FASB rule changed, that took a little bit away from that. But primarily, for most of us, we're in business to deliver battery systems. We're here to manage our projects and manage our cash flows. And something that has that kind of volatility that Bitcoin has was just not something that was feasible for the company. Now personally, I held plenty of Bitcoin. But for the company, I needed something that would hold its value steady. That's just not something that Bitcoin is known for yet. Well, something that companies have in common with Bitcoin is you have to reach consensus, right? So how did it go from an idea to hold stretch to actually executing on it? What did that take? Well, the people that work around me and have spent much time around me, they almost have the same sigh whenever a new person is in our presence and they ask me about Bitcoin or strategy because they go, oh, there goes the day. Because they know I'll just go on about that for long periods time. So the people that I work with, all of my partners, we've been working together for years. So they've watched my investments and they've heard me talk about strategy and they've heard me talk about Bitcoin for a long time. And so four of the five other partners that I have, they're all stretch holders before we even had this discussion. So personally, they were holding MSTR they were also holding STRC. So it wasn't that big of a jump to do it with our corporate money I mean our our treasury. We had one person who was a little reluctant but he's normally the cautious one of the group but it only took about one month when the dividend showed up and he's like you know I think I'm in. So for people who are watching and they're the skeptics and they say oh my gosh this thing's backed by Bitcoin we've never seen anything like this it's super risky what do you say to them? You know the biggest argument I get on STRC is it's too good to be true which I can understand that I mean in the equities world something like this always burns you. In fact if you're an equities investor and you see high dividend yields what's actually called a dividend trap because normally their earnings are in trouble and the company's in in trouble, and they haven't yet reduced the dividend payout. So we've kind of been hardwired over the last five, six decades that when you see a yield that high, it's associated with really high risk. And that's generally the consensus that you have to overcome in the investment world. I've found it's easier to explain stretch to someone who knows nothing about finance than it is with someone who does have a finance background, because it's so novel, it's so far removed from what normal people are used to seeing. But I gotta give credit to Jeff Walton when he sat down with Coffeezilla. You know, I'm not trying to plug coffee, but when he did his, I'll call it a hit piece on STRC, is he did that piece and I got inundated on X and through email from everyone about what did I think about his piece? And I said, actually, I don't think he said anything categorically incorrect. He just framed it up very pessimistically. And he made some comments that were kind of iffy. But I give him credit for bringing Jeff Walton on. But at the same time, I would not want to spar with Jeff Walton. That's one more brilliant people I know who specifically focuses on risk. And when he came out and he explained, when he had the discussion and he asked the question, is an insurance company a Ponzi? I was like, oh, that is the best way to explain it. That's the best way to explain it. So I think with time getting people to see that there are actually other structures like this, but an insurance company has a very similar structure where they raise capital through premiums and their dividend, if you will, would be claims. And what's underlying the entire balance sheet is stocks and bonds or investments. So our strategy does something very similar, just using your preferred equity with Bitcoin as the underlying investment." ### Post #15 by @blknoiz06 > **Author:** Ansem ([@blknoiz06](https://x.com/blknoiz06)) > **Metrics:** 256 likes · 8 retweets · 81 comments · 33.9K views > **Posted:** 2026-06-03T15:52:32+00:00 > **Source Link:** [https://x.com/blknoiz06/status/2062200771299459338](https://x.com/blknoiz06/status/2062200771299459338) > > "strc trading at 95 seems like quite a big problem no?" ### Post #16 by @chooserich > **Author:** Nick O’Neill ([@chooserich](https://x.com/chooserich)) > **Metrics:** 165 likes · 13 retweets · 35 comments · 33.7K views > **Posted:** 2026-06-03T17:56:49+00:00 > **Source Link:** [https://x.com/chooserich/status/2062232050774524174](https://x.com/chooserich/status/2062232050774524174) > > "$7 of volatility. $390M of liquidity. He then introduces STRC as a "Short Duration, High Yield Credit" Nasdaq instrument, walking viewers through the theoretical price range of $70–$80 USD and warning that further Bitcoin sales could occur if the price falls too low. The video concludes with a promotional screen for Quantfury featuring Juan Rodriguez and the invite code "PAPABTC," accompanied by an image of a gold Bitcoin coin. ### Post #24 by @PiusSprenger > **Author:** Pius the Banker ([@PiusSprenger](https://x.com/PiusSprenger)) > **Metrics:** 172 likes · 15 retweets · 44 comments · 17.1K views > **Posted:** 2026-06-03T22:10:19+00:00 > **Source Link:** [https://x.com/PiusSprenger/status/2062295842401272311](https://x.com/PiusSprenger/status/2062295842401272311) > > "This year’s worth of $STRC dividends is gone… for 32 Bitcoin.
