On-screen text identifies both speakers by name and title, with a central logo separating the two frames. > > "i chatted with fahmi syed, president of the midnight foundation, about what’s next with @MidnightNtwrk here’s the alpha [Spoken audio]: Good morning, good afternoon, good evening from the trenches. I am here with Fami Said, president of the Midnight Foundation. Fami, how are you? Lily, I'm amazing. How are you? I'm good. I am beaming today as I'm just getting over the flu and I no longer sound like Darth Vader. That's always a good place to be. Yeah, look, life is good. The sun is almost out in the UK. What is midnight? Give us the the TLDR version. Okay for the TLDR for those people who've been in crypto for the last decade or you know in that sort of realm we are Zcash with smart contracts that's the simple TLDR. What does that mean? Well we think all public blockchains are transparent and they are surveillance mechanisms. You can see in it what everybody's doing, what everybody owns not only today but forever so we don't think that's what it should be so midnight is what we call a permissionless private network. It's permissionless that anybody come and build on it and what they build is their private solutions using the tools and smart contracts we have. Those smart contracts enable selective disclosure. So it is privacy fully protected metadata and data with selected disclosure. So for those who don't quite understand like smart contracts and the heavy tech side of things there's obviously so many different privacy solutions like Zcash, like you just mentioned. How does midnight stand out from those privacy solutions? Okay, so the way to think about it is privacy comes in two forms in the digital world, but let's back it back it out and look at our physical world. So Lydia, you and I have met a number of times and we share various bits of information about each other. Just now off camera you disclose a very personal bit of information that is very positive about you and your family and that's wonderful but you choose to disclose certain information based on trust and how you build trust and build rapport. Today when I go meet people through this business or my personal life I share some information with them but not everything I might tell them you know broadly my age my relationship status the children I have which part of the UK I'm from but I don't give them my postcode I don't give them my bank account I don't give them my sort code and my account number that is selected disclosure that is rational privacy and rational about what elements of my private public life I share so in your digital world you do the same thing when you go and sign into websites you think about what cookies you accept analytical versus other marketing cookies and various things like that when you log into Wi-Fi at stadiums or concerts you decide I don't want to share my email because I'm going to get bombarded so I'd rather not have Wi-Fi that is all a choice about privacy. So in the crypto world most blockchains like Bitcoin, Solana, Cardano and many others are public blockchains which are fully transparent. They give an element of truth based on sharing information so everybody can see it. The problem with that is I get to see your bank account, I get to see how much you're holding it and I get to see all your transactions and we don't think that's the way technology or companies should work or individuals. So there are private chains out there permissionless ones like Zcash where everything is fully protected fully shielded but the problem with that is large corporations regulators get concerned about what is happening they can't see what's happening so they instantly want to shut it down in terms of access to central exchanges and other things you have your private permission networks like the ones JP Morgan are creating or Citibank the problem is those are only they're gated and JP Morgan get to see everything you do because it's all of their clients. Nobody else can get to use it. We think there's an in between. We think that in between is midnight because midnight enables full metadata and data protection because all the data sits on your device, on your side of the firewall. Nobody gets to see it. So when you present it, you present it as a proof. And when that proof exists on our network, you can then decide to share that selectively. You can make it a public disclosure. So the public disclosure may be if you're issuing a stablecoin, the total TVL of the stablecoin issuance on midnight the private disclosure maybe who holds it and whether you're willing to share that information I honestly think it's amazing how blockchain has grown and obviously Charles has referred to this type of technology and midnight as a fourth generation blockchain as it gives people the ability to have a switch on what data they choose to share and whatnot. And the reality is big companies like Amazon, Google, they won't fully adopt blockchain if everyone can see all of their transactions online. And the fact that midnight is obviously here to solve this problem. It's absolutely brilliant. Now midnight is moving at lightning speed. The mainnet launched March this year. The native token night is now listed on major exchanges and you've already secured over 100 partners. What are you most focused on right now? There's two ways to answer that. The first part is the really boring part. Consolidation. So ultimately we're in a very difficult macro environment and as such what we're very focused on is consolidating what we can do at the foundation, focusing on the right channels and how we grow the community, grow the ecosystem, support our partners, working with Shielded, our development partner, plus also other vendors in the space to really unlock the technology. So what we released in back in March was mainnet, I guess, version one, but it lacked some of the features that really unlock our partners. So by the end of June, within our preview network, which will then move into our mainnet through the summer, we're going to bring features like composable smart contracts, events features, things that people building an Ethereum and and other networks have got used to we're going to bring that into midnight alongside its privacy enabling capabilities that for me unlocks partners both current and we have a hundred plus in the ecosystem small and large can start really releasing the features that they want to bring into this space so that's the consolidation part so later on in the year what i want to see more of and i've spoken about this in the past is less of me more of my partners talking about all the wonderful things they do. The other side of that is, look, blockchains are evolving. It was very much about the sort of crypto curious, the crypto fanboys who are very much about taking that technology and evolving it. But we've seen this wave of institutional adoption. So for us is how do we become middleware to that institutional adoption, but at the same time be true to our roots, true to our vision of unlocking democratizing access for individuals, whether that's in develop worlds or developing worlds so for us it's that consolidation and then that launch into really interesting things and there's some exciting things coming we're excited about bringing midnight privacy to other technologies we call it night mode so you can maybe be doing something on Tron or Solana and then maybe you choose night mode and night mode will then start working with midnight to bring privacy into your stablecoin payments one thing so that's developments that are coming later in the year. In Miami in consensus we spoke about this multi-chain signature capability that we're bringing, working with an external partner, will be very similar to NEAR but it will be essentially a private midnight wallet that can control all your other blockchain assets. The first useful case for that is proof of collateral, proof of all your reserves in a single place, then proof of sediment, proof of lending. It really extends out into making viable solutions for prime brokerage, clearing houses, institutions to come and really build their solutions using midnight, as well as other tech that might be using. So we're really excited. Would you go away, ride this macro environment? We're excited about what comes later in this year, early into next year. And you recently announced your partnership with Monument Bank. Can you tell us a little bit more about it? Yeah, so Monument Bank are a challenger bank, a neobank based in the UK. They have a UK banking license regulated by the Bank of England and the PRA. One of the fastest growing neobanks in the UK currently managed 10 billion dollars of assets on deposits for what they call mass affluent clients. Clients who are too big for the Retail Bank and not, sorry, Retail High Street Banks that are not being serviced well, but too small maybe for the rather large, wealthy private world, wealth management banks. So servicing that client, they recognize that they can give access to those clients through traditional rails, but also they recognize tokenization allows access to fractionalize private equity hedge funds, other channels and DeFi yields as well. So they have chosen to work with Midnight where they will initially tokenize 250 million sterling. So for our American friends out there about 300 million dollars worth of deposits, they will tokenize those on Midnight. They will do so in a private way on our permissions network. So Monument Bank gets to decide who sees it and who has access. That's phase one. Phase two is we're working with RWA counterparts to bring in tokenised assets, assets that might be generating yield or provide access that is otherwise unavailable to these Monument Bank clients. And so those Monument Bank clients in this private space within midnight can switch their deposits for these yield bearing assets. and then phase three of that journey is that you take those assets and then you privately use them for Lombard lending. Lombard lending to the uninitiated is basically saying you have a pool of assets a pool of collateral and you're going to use that to get borrowing to go and invest in other things. Today for the most people the only piece of collateral they think of is their house they go and get a mortgage in their house house is collateral against that borrowing they buy the house but your assets but your physical assets or your digital assets can be used for borrowing as well So midnight we think that's part of the third phase with Monument is to open up so they can bear a borrowing, better access to lending facilities using those private crypto assets to then go and invest and generate better yields, better returns. This is very much available to the wealthy. Elon Musk, I've often said, bought Twitter using Tesla shares, not selling Tesla shares. So there's people to keep reinvesting into newer assets without having to sell their existing assets. So that's very exciting. The nice thing about Monument, it's not a one-to-one deal. Monument have a technology platform that they license to other banks. So we're hoping the successful Monument Bank also leads to other banks coming to use the technology. And the nice thing about the whole thing is that Monument Bank clients don't even know it's midnight. They just see a banking app and they see these yield-bearing opportunities and behind it all Monument banks apps are powered by midnight in this space. It just shows the confidence in Midnight, right? Having such a giant like monument get involved so early on and how Midnight has this access to them and this network. It's really exciting. Now Midnight isn't just about RWAs and these institutional partnerships. Midnight is for everyone as you touched on earlier. Obviously like Solana, Cardano, Ethereum, different networks and it's also just it's also for day-to-day users it's for retail so for anyone watching who wants to get involved in midnight what are the best ways for them to become a part of the midnight ecosystem? Yeah look there's several ways if you're a developer or then we have a great development program the alert program which is run by our Deborah team headed by Lauren Lee we have developers, ambassadors across that globally and they do a great job they're building and not only helping us improve our network but also building applications top of that. We have our nightforce ambassador program which if you are in any part of the world you can come and join and become part of the midnight sort of ambassador group and there are different challenges we set and as you can work with those challenges learn more about midnight allows you to essentially run regional hubs and build communities so we have in real life meetings, I was told the other day there was someone in Indonesia, in India, so this is Latin America, so this is slowly growing. Beyond that, for developers at the grassroots, we have two programs, the Build Club and also our Night Sky Accelerator Program. So if you're a new entrepreneurial individual building on midnight, we can help support you in terms of come and invest in you and invest in your business to help you launch and we provide guidance and nurturing and for retail audiences look is it's not for me to go and really speak to that market but if you're in that space then you have access through central exchanges through dexes and other things to access night the nice thing about night and the way it works as a token is unlike other crypto assets it never the more you use it it still stays the same in terms of you're not cannibalizing asset to pay for your transactions, it emits the gas fee for free, so you get your gas for free while you still could hold on to your token. It's like having dividends from a Microsoft shares or Amazon shares, you get dividends, your share price, or certainly your share quantity doesn't change. In Ethereum, in Solana and Cardano, you have to cannibalize your assets by paying for it in for your gas fee. So that's something that makes midnight accessible to others. It allows corporations to think about predictability around both capacity and cost. But what we want is partners, people building what that's entrepreneurial people, individuals, ambassadors or large partners like Monument. We have space for them all. They're all doing wonderful things beyond RWA tokenization. We have forensic supply chain in India being built, healthcare, somebody told me about a private whistleblowing app that we're working with on telegram so people can confidentially whistleblow private period, sort of, there's period poverty across many women across the world, how do you make sure you can track that but also deliver without again exposing or bringing them into a space where they might be embarrassed. So loads of the other interesting things happening in Midnight beyond just that institutional kind of RWA tokenisation play that... To wrap things up, what's next for Midnight? Give us the alpha. Yeah, so as I mentioned earlier, we've got some tech feature releases coming at the end of June through July, August. They'll be released into Mainnet through our sort of release program. Partners will start building using those and you should see a lot of announcements coming. regionally we have exciting news coming in Korea so I would ask both that Korean audience but also audiences in that space to watch out for news in the coming weeks around in that space and Japan Japan is a big area of focus so again I think you'll see some information coming in Korea sort of in July I think you'll hear some information based on my knowledge and timings for Japan in September. And then around that sort of regional news, you'll keep hearing about partners, keep hearing about partners, what we're doing with partners, what they're building, what they're releasing. We're excited for night mode, we're excited for private files, private liquidation on lend borrowing, what Moneyman Bank can do, all of these things are exciting. Fami, thank you so much for your time and for joining us today. I'm looking forward to hearing more about future midnight updates. And for those who are watching, if you enjoy this conversation, make sure to follow the Midnight Network, the Midnight Foundation and FAMY for more." ### Post #2 by @RealAllinCrypto > **Author:** ALLINCRYPTO ([@RealAllinCrypto](https://x.com/RealAllinCrypto)) > **Metrics:** 30 likes · 6 retweets · 1 comments · 3.6K views > **Posted:** 2026-06-26T13:29:00+00:00 > **Source Link:** [https://x.com/RealAllinCrypto/status/2070499570262626473](https://x.com/RealAllinCrypto/status/2070499570262626473) > **Video Content:** [caption-skipped: too old] > > "For @F_ZK_Now , success for @MidnightFDN is not about the token.
