"Send a tiny BCH test first" sounds sensible, but I'd want to see the receiving page before choosing an amount. I'd first check whether native BCH deposits on the Bitcoin Cash network are open. That's the kind of asset and network check BYDFi's deposit guide describes. The current receiving instructions are what I'd use to pick the amount. If a receiving service states a minimum deposit, I'd check the net amount in the sending preview against it. A fee deducted from the amount I enter needs to be accounted for before I send. I'd also check the required confirmations. With my own wallet, I'd check for receipt there; with an exchange, I'd wait for the credit in my account before sending the rest."
