I live in Tucson, AZ, but I feel like this is something I've seen everywhere: Gas stations that are down the road from each other, or even across from each other, with different prices for the same gas. What prompts this post is the other day there were two gas stations literally across the road from each other - one was ~$4.35 a gallon, one was ~$4.55 a gallon. It was two different gas station brands which I imagine influences it, but I don't get how or why. What reason would someone have to not go across the road to the cheaper station? How does the station charging more justify it? Thanks!"
