I glanced at Darlene and she looked at Chloe and gave her a kiss, “I gotta go hunny.” She said clearly not wanting to be here any longer. I didn’t blame her or anything I understood it was awkward to just stand in your ex husband’s house.
As she walked out the door I noticed something a little odd, what looked like a beetle of some sort on her neck, but when I looked closer and tried to adjust my eyes it was gone. I ignored it and immediately spent the entire evening painting, coloring, and doing all sorts of activities with Chloe until she was tired."
