I genuinely cannot wrap my head around needing a hard drive that’s hundreds of gigabytes in capacity. I understand the need for them to make operating systems feel comfortable, but my laptop I got 6 years ago came with 500GB and after all this time I haven’t even filled 10% of that if you don’t include the operating system and it’s bloat. I get people who make long videos or have live security camera feed rolling in constantly, it makes sense for that. For the average person though, most everyday files are measured in KB, photos in megabytes (for most cases) and videogames are a few hundred MB to a couple GB. I’d imagine like 50GB would be enough to last the rest of my life, I haven’t even filled up my 10GB hard drive on my PC after all these years despite still using it and installing more software not that rarely."
