I still however do about 90% of my old job as well. I work for a clinic that is owned by one of the providers. They are kind, flexible, and probably one of the best bosses I have ever worked for. My problem, however, is the pay. Because we are a small clinic, I knew I would never be making a lot of money here, but it was comfortable. I did finally did have a meeting with my boss when I got a job offer working $6/hr over what I was making here. She was willing to go up another $3/hr and move me from 35 hours a week to a full 40 hours a week. It was shortly after this that I found out I would be taking over the office manager position. After I finished taking on the training and taking on the whole roll I approached my boss about getting a pay increase due to my promotion. They said at the moment they couldn’t, because we were down a few physicians and we didn’t have the money until we could hire some new ones. This was late-2025. Come 2026, we have a new physician and I again ask about the increase for the promotion, where they state that they still can’t because they want to hire one more physician, and when I pushed, they stated that I got a very large raise last year, which I promptly reminded them that this was not a raise, this was an increase for a new position, therefore the two are not related. After some back and forth they increased my pay by $1/hour."
