I built a validation pipeline specifically to kill my own ideas, and the strategy that started the whole project (a plain Asian-session range breakout on USD/JPY) had never been through it. I had only tested in-sample. Figured it was time to run it through the whole thing. The rules: - Measure the Asian session (quiet hours before London) high and low. That is the range. - Close above the high: long. Close below the low: short. - Stop at the opposite end of the range. - Flat at a fixed afternoon hour if still open. - One trade per day, USD/JPY only. Only USD/JPY because the same rules on EUR/USD lost half the account on first run. The Asian range means something on the yen's home session and nothing on EUR/USD. Honest test is the pair where the mechanism plausibly exists."
