The biggest thing is that I’ve never felt scared or guilty about asking questions at work before. With previous managers, I’ve always been comfortable saying I don’t know something. With her, I find myself worrying that she’ll make me feel stupid for asking. I’m dealing with trades and large amounts of money, so I’d rather ask a question than make a mistake. But her attitude sometimes feels like, “You’ve been here 3 weeks, why don’t you know this?” rather than recognizing that I’m still learning. On my first day, my manager mentioned there had been high turnover on the team. At the time I didn’t think much of it, but now I’m starting to wonder if there’s a reason. I’m trying to suck it up because I don’t want to make enemies. I want to learn the job, do well and build relationships here, so I’m not trying to start drama or complain about every interaction. That said, I’m wondering if I should start keeping a private record of her rude/passive-aggressive comments and Teams interactions just in case this becomes a bigger issue later. Would you recommend keeping track of these interactions?
