Ok, so i'm pretty annoyed right now. we had read online that cashiers checks clear pretty much same day or next business day. We went into the Sarasota branch yesterday and opened an account (we already had a couple of other accounts for a different purpose) to purchase Treasurys. We specifically asked the question: how long will it take our checks to clear? The answer was that we could trade usually within a few hours or at latest the next day. We got online today and only 25k was available to trade. We called the 800 number to inquire why and were told that our funds would not be available for us to trade for 10 days. ??WHAT?? We overheard someone else telling the person standing next to us the same thing. It's really outrageous for them to be giving such false information. We would not have opened the account with cashiers checks if we had been told the truth. We now have a much different opinion of fidelity. We are not sure if we want to stay with them at all at this point. Now our cash is losing money every day until they decide to clear it. Very very unhappy..."
