State Street released a new sector outlook this morning, and is very positive on the Tech and Semiconductor sectors, both now and in 2027 despite the macro risks we see. “Environments characterized by rising yields alongside an improving growth and earnings outlook, such as 2016/2018/2023, have led to Tech sector outperformance.” Additionally, the tech sector’s forward P/E has dropped 20% this year to its lowest levels since 2022 when the broad market was down ~18%, due to consistent strong earnings growth. Consensus estimates for 2027 tech sector earnings growth have increased from 27% to 40%, and the semiconductor is expected to have 62% earnings growth for 2027."
