My construction company has us PEs fill out one of those competency/self-assessment charts. It’s a 200-part list of “How comfortable are you with-“ then actions involving scheduling, financials, procurement, subcontractor management, RFIs,
change orders, safety, quality, closeout, etc. You rate yourself from 1–5, where 1 is basically no exposure and 5 means you can do it independently plus teach others. All weighted the same. I got a 1.6 which makes me shocked that I’ve ever been employed, much less 4.5 years straight."
