So I’m 31 and my longest actual job was 2 months of retail when I was 19. Since then it’s been dropping out of school, random work, helping family, and some pretty long stretches where I basically did nothing. I don’t have a degree or much of a resume, and that’s starting to scare the shit out of me. I spent too much time trying to figure out what career I’m “supposed” to do. I know I need to stop doing that and focus on proving I can actually show up consistently. So I’m thinking of spending the next month getting my sleep back on track, doing some basic computer/customer service stuff every day, and maybe volunteering somewhere a couple days a week. Then I’d start applying for entry level jobs where I can actually build some work history."
