I almost got burned by someone who seemed legitimate. The biggest red flag? He insisted I use HIS escrow account/site instead of letting me use my own trusted payment service.
When I asked to use my own, he acted shocked: “You don’t trust me?” 😂
No. I don’t know you. That’s exactly why I want escrow.
Remember: “Escrow” doesn’t automatically mean safe. Scammers can create fake escrow sites, fake confirmations, and even fake customer support.
If someone insists you use their escrow/payment system and gets upset when you want to use your own, walk away.
Nobody wants to give their hard-earned money away for free.
Trust your instincts. Control the payment method yourself. If they won’t allow it, 🚩🚩🚩
Hopefully this saves someone from learning the expensive way."
