My X3 required constant micro-corrections on the freeway and would wander left/right instead of settling into a straight line. Sport steering made it noticeably better. Alignment was significantly out and correcting it helped, but did not solve the problem. A BMW specialist road-tested it and confirmed the issue. No EPS fault codes were present and the suspension/steering components checked out. Using ISTA, they performed an EPS recommissioning/initialization and EPS/DSC synchronization. Interestingly, ISTA specifically recommends this procedure for complaints involving difficulty holding the steering straight and after front axle/tie-rod adjustments."
