· 2026-10-01T21:06:14.536000+00:00How worried should I be about cyberattacks on brokerages With the constant onslaught of news about AI cyber-attack capabilities being uncontrollably (and maybe controllably as well) unleashed onto the web, I’m starting to get nervous about the idea that one day I log into my brokerages and the assets are gone somehow. I’m not talking about ACATS fraud, nor someone somehow obtaining my credentials and logging into my account due to my own negligence. I’m more thinking about a nefarious actor aiming to wreck havoc into the US economy by attacking accounts records and bookkeeping. This is hopefully a far-fetched scenario but as we are seeing that AI is particularly good at enabling attacks on computer systems, and that a brokerage at this point relies enormously on its computer infrastructure, I wonder if custodians of brokerage and retirement accounts are equipped (or equipping themselves) to maintain records’ integrity. If you pay attention to folks like Bill Gates, they are getting incredibly alarmed that the world is built on fragile computer systems that new AI tools can mess with in a way that humans hacker could only dream of.

So, once the ITM call expires, and 100 of my shares are called away, that lot called away should be the $100 lot, resulting in less capital gain, and it is a trade that is break even or slight gain in this case.. But Options overview tool does not show that, it shows a gain as if the shares being called away are are mixture of the first and second lots, not the lot at $100 I left free to be called away after locking up the first lot as a limit sale. A substantial capital gain. At expiration, what lot will Fidelity allow to be called away, lot 1, or lot 2? I've searched everywhere for an answer.
· 2026-10-01T22:11:25.012000+00:00Finance vs Tech career POV as a fresher with 40 yrs of career left I am about to graduate in a year with a dual major in Economics and Computer Science, elligible for both sectors but am caught in a dilemma. Product based tech companies spend a lot more on their workforce in the form of equity comp, pay, benefits and WLB at entry levels while finance is still low pay and higher hours at the entry levels in comparison. I am aware their is a ceiling in tech and that finance pays tons at the higher levels but only a few percent of the entry class ever make it to those levels in finance. Therefore I don't really understand this rat race to break into finance at all. What are your opinions on it, do you think AI will finally end this tech premium once and for all or is tech going to fight back and we will see a much stronger and greater divergence in the future where tech careers absolutely dominate finance ones in pay, WLB etc while financial careers are decimated by AI ?
