German inflation accelerated to 3.3% in Sep from 2.9% in Aug, driven by another sharp rise in energy prices. Core inflation, which strips out energy and food, held steady at 2.4%.

This Bloomberg chart titled "Germany CPI & Core CPI (YoY)" (GRCP20YY Index) illustrates the sharp divergence between German headline CPI inflation, which has accelerated to 3.3% from its recent lows, and core CPI inflation (excluding food & energy), which has held steady at 2.4%, reflecting how the recent uptick in headline inflation is being driven primarily by energy prices rather than broad-based price pressures.
