I quit my job because of the success I was seeing from trading, but this month has been slow and my savings are running low. I’m currently in a 25K Lucid Pro eval and I’m about halfway through the drawdown with only ~$300 left. I really need to get through this and get a payout to get back on my feet, but I know putting that pressure on myself could easily lead to overtrading. How do you guys stay disciplined and slow down when you feel like you need a payout? I’m 19 and would really appreciate advice from experienced traders.
· 2026-09-29T04:22:22.935000+00:00Fidelity won't provide a written write up to follow up with their correction After my Roth Conversion of 4200 shares of one stock on Sept.1, 2026, Fidelity called at 6:50pm that evening to tell me that the conversion couldn’t go through because I had sell orders pre-set for a portion of the stock that I was converting. I had done conversions like that previously and there was never any problem. Nonetheless, I offered to cancel the sell orders which took me less than a minute. He said it looked fine, the conversion should go through. Since my conversion order was placed before 4 pm, I was concerned, and asked if the conversion price would still be as of the closing stock price at the end of Sept. 1, otherwise I’d rather cancel. The representative took at least 10 min. to check, and told me that it would be. On Sept. 2 at 9am before the stock market opened, I even spoke to a supervisor who assured me that it would be as of the closing price of Sept.1, but they both misinformed me. The stock went up on Sept.2, and I suffered a loss. In addition, there was a $103K tax holding taken out with this conversion. I called twice and explained what happened, they said there’s nothing they could do. I finally called and talked to one representative who was willing to file a complaint for me. After 3 weeks and 2 more phone calls of nonsense delays, I finally talked to another supervisor who checked and told me that they will do a correction on the 1099 form for tax year 2026. I asked for some form of writing to reflect what he was telling me. I hate to wait 'til next Jan. or Feb. to receive the 1099 form and find out that I'm once again misinformed. He said there’s nothing in writing, I just have to take his word for it. That was what got me into trouble – taking the word of one representative and one supervisor, now should I be taking the word of another supervisor? If their hands are clean, why is it so difficult to put it in writing? Can anyone advise me of whether I should just hope for the best or continue to press on with sending letters out somewhere?

The broker has to allow shorting as well for gold. It also NEEDS to be on Metatrader5 since I’m a quant systematic trader, so if they don’t have those, don’t bother mentioning them to me. I live in USA so if it’s banned in the USA Especially don’t bother mentioning those brokers. I need a broker that won’t screw me out of money if I make millions, something reputable. Ideally it would be nice if they have good spreads, round fees, etc. the only brokers that have XAUUSD that I know are oanda and forex.com and they don’t even allow shorting on gold. I think they don’t even allow you to trade on gold now. What a joke. USA is a joke.
