I recently joined a pretty big company (top 100 in the UK) as an analyst and im praised constantly for my work quality and how I’m a systems level thinker which they love, a quick learner, and i dont simply stop at execution. Thing is id love to stay at this company for long but havent really fleshed out a proper career trajectory here while interviewing. I’m only 2 months in, is it too early to talk about long term goals? I have a weekly meeting with my manager and I’m considering bringing this up so i have something to work towards.

For context and clarity academically: I'm like 1.5 years into college at community college for electrical engineering, work-wise: I've job hopped around basically collecting technician roles while doing school either part time or full time. But my dilemma is that I've been sitting on going to school for my a&p license to work on airplanes. I want too bc I don't really like math even though I'm pretty good at it, and I don't want to be an engineer and sit at a desk all day, I had one desk job and I hated it. And my parents are mechanics and I grew up around engines and wanted to be a mechanic in high school, airplanes specifically bc I know someone who is one and I found out they make pretty good money. Not just going to school, but I want to go to one in a major city that's 5 hours away from where I currently live. There is one that near me, but I want to get away from my hometown, and I've tried to move and take jobs that aren't here in the past but things always happen that prevents me from leaving. The school is decent and I did go check it out and apply but I'm still on the fence a little bit. Everybody in my life I feel like doesn't want me to go and is against it, both people I'm close too and people that I'm not that close too but I've told. And like they are valid bc why would you leave college to go to trade school? And not just college but like good degree path. The whole moving away thing too, because it's not the best decision financially to make but I feel that I need to do it for my mental health I guess. Not to be dramatic but I feel like I'm suffocating in this town and I'm never gonna become the person that I want to become and do the things that I want to do while living here. But also, the people who I'm going to school with too, would they think I'm a flake? I just wanna know reddit's thought and would this be a dumb ass decision.
