My first post got flagged by Reddit’s system and removed. Not sure why 😒 anyway, I’m curious about TLT and the Boglehead philosophy. My understanding of TLT is that it is a pointer to where the bond market is heading. I.e., it might not be good for holding on to. Is that right? Is TLT a worthy long term hold in my tax advantaged account in line with Bogleheas philosophy ? Currently the IRA holds 80% TLT and 20% BIV. My 401k holds a mix of 50% BlackRock TDF and BlackRock 20/80. I’m slowly reallocating the 20/80 over into the TDF. Is it wise to hold TLT long term for the coupon payouts?"
