Me and my S/O make roughly 84k combined, I make 62 and she makes 22, we have two kids aged 4 and 5, we are lucky enough to save enough of the past year and next year to have about 50k for a down payment on a home, but because our combined income is so "low' we won't even get approved for anything more than 300k which is barely half of a detached home... I will be making roughly 75k at the end of next year and we are hoping she will find something soon that will get us into the 100-120k a year combined by then but how are we ever supposed to afford a home? This just really bums me out we both work so hard to save what we can and make a good life for our kids but it seems like we just can't keep up... Just wanted to rant a bit its been a tough week."
