This is, in my opinion, incorrect. You should set your initial stop about 16% and then, if your trade starts going your way, move the stop to a point where you are profitable even if you get stopped out by any amount. As the trade runs follow with the stop. You then don't need to move the profit target, and can set higher profit targets, while reducing risk of loss to literally zero.

Hi everyone, Question for everyone who's been around the block with Wealthsimple a little longer than me (my wife and I moved a good chunk of our finances over in early August). I'm going to be moving one of our Manulife TFSAs over (about $56k) to Wealthsimple and I know about the 1% match promo. But are there times in the year historically where that number tends to be higher? Any kind of expected promo season? We're not concerned with longer lock-ins, etc. The goal is to not touch this for 20+ years anyways. I'm just trying to do the math on the benefits of moving now at 1% knowing Manulife's fees are higher than what I'd be moving to vs. a possible but not guaranteed higher promo rate at some point in the near future if it's something that people feel is reliable. There are some calculations where just moving it now wins out, and others where waiting would win out but only the promo is high enough/close enough.
