The TLDR is that I spent the first 35 years of my life spending every penny making music videos (lolz ☠️) and realized at 35 I needed to retire at some point. So it’s been a slow climb, but finally hit $100k of VT by 41. Goal is $250k by 45 and $500k by 50. It may be a modest plan, and I won’t retire that early, but at least I’ll be able to retire! Bogleheads philosophy has been perfect to demystify the process and have a sense of clarity (and peace) around the albatross of financial wellness.

However I've noticed the 30yr TIPS are currently paying 3.25% real return (i.e. 3.25% above the rate of inflation) and 10yr is at 2.8% I want to run this crazy idea past folks. I'm thinking of buying a 30yr TIPS ladder where the total each year is $100k-whatever social security we expect to get that year.
