I compromised my needs. I begged for basic communication. I kept giving chances. I kept looking for the sweet version of him underneath the coldness.
And eventually I realized something:

The worst part is how easily someone can make you question your own reality afterward.
You remember the affection.
You remember the intimacy.
You remember the things they said.
You remember how safe they made you feel.
Then they withdraw and suddenly you’re sitting there wondering whether you hallucinated the entire relationship.
No.
I didn’t hallucinate it.

And I’m fucking angry about it.
I’m angry that I abandoned my own boundaries trying to keep someone who wasn’t willing to meet me halfway.
I’m angry that I spent so much time trying to understand his wounds while mine were being created.
I’m angry that women are constantly expected to be understanding of emotionally unavailable men while we’re left picking ourselves up after they decide they don’t want the intimacy they helped create.
And no, I’m not saying every man who withdraws is a narcissist or every emotionally unavailable person is deliberately manipulating someone.
I’m saying
If you know you’re incapable of giving someone what they’re becoming emotionally invested in, you have a responsibility to be honest before you take what you want from them.
Because another human being isn’t a fucking disposable experience.
And to anyone who’s been through this:

You trusted what you were shown.
I finally stopped begging someone to give me the bare minimum.
And the most liberating thing I’ve done wasn’t making him regret losing me.
It was reaching the point where
That’s my revenge.
Not getting him back."
