I currently contribute a LOT to retirement... which is great. I want to do more. I somehow have just overlooked the IRA component of contributions. What I currently do: I have a healthy salary that puts me over any MAGI for anything tax deductible. I have a base salary of $220,000, a 25% bonus of $55,000 and an LTIP that will start vesting annually next year at (around) $84,000. My company matches 6% dollar-for-dollar AND they do a profit share component that is 6% minimum and 8% maximum (no contribution required). I get the match on my bonus as well as base, the profit share is paid out quarterly. Current employer does allow for MBDR up to 6% of eligible earnings.

Lots of people laid off, budgets tightened, etc. That said, the administrative leadership at the hospital still got their annual bonuses. This year, annual raises were back, with rumors it would be generous since last year was skipped. Since were are non-profit (technically) most people see an average of 2-4% in their annual raise, people were hoping it would be 5-8% with the skipped year and constant communication from leadership how much better off we are this year.
