What started as a relatively niche RWA use case is turning into something much bigger: traditional equities being represented onchain and traded through crypto infrastructure. A few things that stand out to me: * 24/7 trading: Tokenized equities can trade outside traditional stock-market hours, including weekends, depending on the platform and product.
* Onchain settlement: Instead of keeping everything inside traditional brokerage infrastructure, the asset can exist and move on a blockchain.
* Wallet compatibility: Some tokenized securities can be transferred between wallets and integrated with onchain applications.
* Redemption: This is probably the most important part. A token being available onchain doesn’t automatically mean it’s backed by the actual stock. The issuer, custody structure and redemption mechanism matter.
* DeFi composability: There’s also the possibility of using tokenized equities within broader onchain financial infrastructure rather than keeping stocks isolated in a brokerage account."
