This is really screwed up but there is a new EU regulation called the "satoshi test". I have never dealt with it because I am American and my Coinbase account is in the US. But when I sent $6,000 to my girlfriend's Crypto.com account for surgery who is in the EU they would not release the funds until I do the "satoshi test" proving ownership of the Coinbase account. This is impossible for two reasons. One, Coinbase uses different addresses with each send. And two, the satoshi test requires sending 0.000007 btc which is far below Coinbase's minimum send. So now I have $6,000 stuck on . I have heard about useless dumb stupid EU regulations before but this is the first time I have had to deal with one."
