We recently added support for the Gateway directly into our X402 command in the CLI. So now an Agent Wallet session can authorize USDC payments to X402 APIs that offer Gateway as a payment option. Circle has a pretty nice marketplace here. We could browse X402 compatible paid services. There are a lot of different APIs available for this demo. going to use APIs that support gateway nanopayments. So let's go ahead and get started and jump over here to the terminal. I already have my wallet set up with the alchemy CLI, but I just wanted to verify that I have an active session. So I ran alchemy wallet status verify you see it is active and this is my EVM balance or sorry my EVM address. And then down below I ran alchemy explorer to balance. As you can see here, I have already pre funded into this wallets circle gateway balance. This is a one time on chain deposit. So that individual API payments my agent wallet makes will draw down from this balance. So now let's go ahead and get into the demo. I am going to start up codex. And we're going to give codex a prompt to use the alchemy CLI to access the agent wallet and make some x402 API calls. If If we go over here to cursor, I have a prompt that I add codecs right up for me. So it says run a live Circle Gateway demo that buys five Bitcoin market signals and turns them into one concise market pulse. I added some constraints and some info about the CLI here just so that this live demo goes well. You can see the API calls that I'm gonna be making down below. But yeah, let's go ahead and just copy this over to codecs and see what it comes back with. I'll go to the markdown, copy it all and paste it in. Cool. Codex has finished its investigation and given me a Circle Gateway Bitcoin Market Pulse. It looked at five different signals and spent only four cents to gather the data. It checked the Bitcoin seven day change, fair and greed, funding rate, long and short ratio, and open interest change. And it came back with a bottom line that Bitcoin was broadly flat but recovered within its range. The leverage indicators firmed while sentiment remained cautious and it output a full report to this markdown file here. The real goal here though was to show you that I was able to get all of this market data from paid API calls without a subscription or an API key. And this is really nice if you're a user of tools like Codex or Claude and you want your agent to be able to pay for things without human intervention.
