And that is my first question for you, but first, I just have to say, welcome. Thank you. It's your first time on TV. Thanks for having me. It's your TV debut. I'm happy you're doing it here at Morning Call. It's great to have you here on set. Great to be here. So let's start right there. What are we talking about with Clarity Act with a one-yard line? Yes. So Congress is really into crunch time when it comes to the Clarity Act. They have two weeks left in July and then they leave for August. Then they come back for a few weeks in September and then they're gone again for our October, and then it's the election. So you're really looking at a compressed schedule here. They have a lot else to get done. They have to do the defense bill. They have to fund the government. It's a lot on their plate. So it's just whether crypto sort of fits into that, you know, schedule and whether they can get it across the finish line. So in light of that, I mean, there has been some opposition by Democrats to the bill. How does that impact things, especially when as you point out, we can't even get a defense policy bill pushed through, right? It impacts things a lot, right? So there was a reported agreement yesterday between Republicans and the White House on ethics, and that's mostly in regard to political figures, think about the president trading crypto and stuff like that, putting guardrails around that. But at least as far as I've heard and as far as we've heard, Democrats were not privy to that deal. So they still have concerns with this. They have some other concerns around maybe illicit uses of crypto, restricting that. So there's a lot that's sort of left on the table here. It's very unclear whether that's going to get sorted out in this timeline. So in light of that, what happens if this drags beyond the election here? Yeah. I mean, if it drags beyond the election, then you're looking at, you know, everything gets scrambled after an election. They're rushing to finish what's left. You end up with a new cast of characters come January. And if it drags out beyond this Congress, you're kind of starting from point A again. You're starting over because everything resets. So, you know, it's really, these next few weeks are going to be critical, depending on what happens. And you'll be watching it and covering it for us. Garrett Downs, great to have you here. And it's just learning about this technology, particularly in terms of computers, because when you learn a new computer technology, you can You can immediately put it to work by writing software to use it and to be able to do things you couldn't do before. So this has happened to me a number of times over the years. It's completely uncontrollable when it happens. And it's really good in a way that I'm amazingly productive during these times. I can write an amount of software programs that would take a normal person months and months to write, and I can just do it in a few days because it's uncontrollable when it happens. And it's really good in a way that I'm amazingly productive during these times."
