Launch asset is $OUSD from @openstandard , sitting alongside @circle 's $USDC [Spoken audio]: So today, Visa announced the launch of their Visa stablecoin platform, and I want to give a high-level overview of what it is. So it's an internal system that banks or fintechs can integrate into their existing Visa payment or Treasury workflows to handle stablecoins without the complexities of having to build their own infrastructure or integrate different bits and pieces of infrastructure from other companies. It's a one-stop shop. And so the launch asset for this platform is OpenUSD, which is a new stablecoin from OpenStandard, which is a consortium of a bunch of different fintech giants, Visa being one of those partners. Now Visa is putting OpenUSD up alongside stablecoins that they already support, such as Circles, USDC and PAXOS USDG. Now something to consider here is the scale of Visa. Visa processes or settles around 15 trillion in payments across roughly 15,000 financial institutions and 200 million merchants worldwide. Now they're already processing several billion in stablecoin settlements and now they're trying to grow that number. In the Fortune article above here, Visa's head of global growth, Rubale Birdwaker, talks about this platform being less about accessing stablecoins and more about fitting them into treasury and money movement workflows that banks and fintechs are already running. I think that's the real story here is stablecoin infrastructure winners aren't gonna be the ones who are talking about how fancy their tech is of how fast it is, or using all of these jargony words that a lot of us are used to in this industry, the winners are gonna be the ones that are able to make moving money across networks feel invisible, whether that's routing, settlement, all of it hidden behind a clean experience. And I think that's the thesis a lot of us are building within this stablecoin infrastructure industry, and I have been working toward for years. The rails are what matters the most and not the noise." --- ## Contributing Accounts - `@_0xghost_` (https://x.com/_0xghost_)
